Cory Grosser has won the 2014 Cristalplant | Agape Design Contest

The winning entry will be introduced as a prototype during Milan Design Week (April 8/13) at Fuorisalone’s Solferino 31, and subsequently included in the catalogue of Agape - a world leader in the “Made in Italy” bathroom segment.

Slide by Cory Grosser is a combination shelf and towel holder for modern bathrooms. The unique design allows towels to be displayed in the folded position and hung for drying after use. Defined by a pure aesthetic, slide is meant to create a graphic composition on the wall. The use of continuous lines and fluid surfaces allow the piece to appear minimal, yet warm and inviting to the touch.

Slide is made of Stainless Steel and Cristalplant Biobased, an eco-friendly, moldable material with a unique visual appearance and touch. Cristalplant® Biobased, is the world’s first eco-sustainable solid surface material. It is 100% recyclable and derived from 30% plant based resins and 50% aluminum hydrate recovered from the extraction of aluminum. It is low-voc and GreenGuard Certified. Cristalplant® Biobased is Made in Italy.

Founded in 1973, Agape is the market leader in the “Made in Italy” bathroom sector. The company’s mission is to make the bathroom a more comfortable and aesthetically stimulating space. The company invests significantly in research and development and has worked with some of the world’s best designers including Enzo Mari, Konstantin Grcic, Patricia Urquiola and Giampaolo Benedini.

Turtle/Turtle launches on Kickstarter

Turtle/Turtle on Kickstarter

I’m excited to announce Turtle/Turtle. It’s a minimalist toy, children’s seat and decorative interior object. It was originally designed as a one-off prototype for Humanscale’s Faces in the Wild auction with proceeds benefiting the World Wildlife Fund. The project proved popular, so it’s now being offered to a wider audience on the Kickstarter platform. Inspired by a sea turtle, it’s a great gift to give a child when they are young that they can keep for life.

Backers of this project will be helping to create the first serial production run of the Turtle/Turtle. Backers pledge to pay for their selected reward only if we meet the funding goal of $7,500 so every pledge counts. If you pledge $150 or more, you will be pre-ordering one of the first Turtle/Turtles ever produced.
